Health Benefits of Chia Seeds
Chia seeds are rich in fiber, omega-3 fats, protein, vitamins and minerals. They contain the essential fatty acids alpha-linolenic and linoleum acid, vitamins A, B, E, and D, as well as minerals such as sulphur, iodine, magnesium, manganese, niacin, thiamine & are a rich source of antioxidants!
Recent research has found that chia seeds promote healthy skin, reduce signs of aging, support the heart & digestive system, as well as help to build stronger bones & muscles!
They are also a great source of Fibre if you're feeling a little constipated... let 2 tbsp soak in water and drink! Or add to a smoothie bowl and let soak for a few mins before eating :)
Smoothie Bowl Recipe
- 2 big handfuls spinach
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk(or water)
- 1 cup frozen fruit (I used mixed berries, you can use any of your choice)
- 1 scoop protein powder
- add extra water as needed to reach desired consistency
- TOPPINGS:
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tsp hemp hearts
- 1 tsp PB/Almond Butter
